My favorite free fonts for modern design

If you're like me you're spending hours on the internet for just the right font for the most recent logo your designing or even a simple ad. Okay, I know, I spend A Lot of time searching for fonts, not everyone has that kind of time on their hands (I don't think I do either, but hey, at least I can save your time). Many design trends have been becoming very simplistic and modern over the years. You can pay to get some stunning commercial use fonts but, not everyone has the means for this.
I've been scouring the internet in various places and have compiled ten of my favorite modern fonts for modern and simplistic design. These fonts are a great addition to your designs and best off they're free for commercial use!
A big miss with free fonts can often be that they may not offer both lower case and capital letters, this is not the case with Modeka. While the lowercase may not be the best choice for a body text depending on the design, the lowercase characters still possess the same creative lines as the capital and can easily make a bold and beautiful headline in any modern design. While Modeka is a free use font the author asks that you share the page on social media or make a small donation.
Elianto is a very creative geometric text great for bold headlines. While most of the characters have an unique characteristic, there's a few that really stand out; A, C, O & Q. I love utilizing these when I can as they can really bring a design together. Elianto does come with a simple lowercase font which acts great as a secondary or body font.
A beautiful, clean typeface. While the font family is relatively simple, the K really stands out. A great addition to any design you want to be clean; if you get to use the K, an ever better characteristic addition. Ikaros comes with simple lowercase characters as well great as a secondary font in any design.
Offering lowercase and uppercase characters; this typeface really represents two very different feelings. I really enjoy the boldness of the uppercase characters while being able to use the lowercase to soften up the design or create beautiful secondary type.
Another smooth and rounded, yet beautiful typeface. Waxe is another very universal font that can work great for a soft, inviting header or logo while also working as a readable body font. While this a simple typeface it still has some very unique lines
A bold and unique modern typeface. Blern’s abstract geometry makes it a great addition to any modern design. It’s still easy to read while having its own character.
This is certainly a favorite of mine. This font really juts has a "water" feeling, if that makes any sense. This font is very minimalist and modern while still producing some amazingly unique characteristics with it's curves. This is a great typeface to give your modern design an incredibly unique feel. Amsdam is free for a social media shout-out or small you can give donation.
Komoda's tall and slender design makes this typeface perfect for a modern, minimalist design. Komoda is only available as an uppercase typeface making it great for headings and logos. Personally, I love the numbers in the Komoda typeface, they have their own unique feel also great modern and minimalist designs.
Now, there are so many more amazing modern fonts out there, this is only my first eight. I hope you enjoy these fonts and remember when you are downloading these amazing typefaces to appreciate the projects on sites like Behance and donate when you can!
